Wreaths Across America is a ceremony to recognize all the sacrifices our veterans have made for the goodness of our country. Wreaths will be presented, speeches will be made, and attendees are reminded of those who have and who have not fallen for our country. The mission statement this year is to “Remember, Honor, Teach”, and will be highlighted throughout the ceremony. Special guests coming to the event include Gina Romundo, General Callahan, Director Kasim, and the Commissioner of Education, Angélica M. Infante-Green. While attending the ceremony, it is obvious that it is a group effort taking part in the recognition of our veterans and servicemen. Mr. Calenda and his students work tirelessly to pull off the event every year, and are the core reason the Remember, Honor, Teach motto lives up to its name.
The ceremony is taking place on December 10, 2019 and starts promptly at 9 am in the Field House here at Ponaganset High School. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Students may bring their family members or friends that are veterans or servicemen. If you would like to invite anyone, please email Haeley Arruda at [email protected] for more information.
