How many years have you been teaching?

“2 years”

What school(s) have you worked at in the past (if any)?

“Tollgate, and PHS RIC, CCRI”

What subjects have you taught?

“Geometry, algebra, 1 and 2.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

“At PHS, still teaching still smiling still being happy and still being my cheerful self,”

How old do you feel?

“50 years old and because I just day in day out I have always been an old soul, and now I feel it.”


Why did you become a teacher?

“I like working with people, I like helping people I have always been happy helping people. When you are in the right spot you know and I didn’t always want to be a teacher.  I trust the universe because everything happens for a reason and everything just fell into place.”

What is your favorite food?

“Anything sweet. I love cinnamon buns. I love pizza. I make homemade Cinnamon buns,. Any of the sweet stuff, I have a sweet personality.”

Did you always want to be a teacher?

“Yes and no, I always wanted to be something in math because i was good at it. Being at a desk all day I really wanted to help people and being a teacher kind of added all those things together.”

How has your experience at Ponaganset High school been for you?

“Great, the faculty members have been nice, and the teachers have been good. Especially Mrs., Burns next store she is completely awesome.”

What are your hobbies?

“I like math ,I like to golf there is a lot of math and gold. I like MMA I like fighting and I like to make money, so there’s that. Money is an important thing in life and money buys happiness I believe. 

Mr. Coyle has been teaching for two years. He has taught at Tollgate, RIC, CCRI, and PHS. He teaches Geometry, Algebra 1 and 2. In the next five year, he sees himself “at PHS, still teaching, still smiling, still being happy, and still being my cheerful self.” When I asked him how old he felt, he described it as 50; “50 years old, because I just day-in day-out I have always been an old soul, and now I feel it.” When I asked him why he became a teacher he said: “I like working with people, I like helping people I have always been happy helping people. Since Mr. Coyle is new to the PHS, he described his experience as “great, the faculty members have been nice, and the teachers have been good.
