The Vietnam Moving Wall is coming to Ponaganset a week from now.

The Moving Wall website states -“The Moving Wall” is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for thirty plus years. When John Devitt attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of “The Wall.” He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.

Christopher Stanley, a Social Studies Teacher at Ponaganset High School decided a year ago that it was his mission to bring the wall to the students of Ponaganset because there were too many obstacles to taking the whole school to Washington D.C.

Mr. Stanley has worked with many other people (teacher, community members and others in the state) to secure the wall’s appearance in Rhode Island for the first time in over ten years.  The group then set out to raise $50,000 to support all of the festivities that will surround it’s appearance at Ponaganset.

The wall will arrive Thursday morning with many different ceremonies planned for the five days it will be here.  The ceremonies are:
