Story
Emaly Akkaoui and Kate Mooney played well in a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles as Ponaganset took down Lincoln School 5-2.
The Chieftains close the regular season Tuesday at Portsmouth with a homefield match in the Division II playoffs on the line. If the Chieftains win, they’ll be the No. 3 seed and likely host Chariho or Portsmouth. If the Chieftains lose, they’ll likely be the No. 5 seed – provided Chariho doesn’t upset No. 1 North Smithfield in its regular-season finale Tuesday – and play at Portsmouth in the first round of the playoffs.
Maeve McEnroe won at No. 1 and Kaitlyn Amado and Sonya Akhtar won at No. 3 doubles for Lincoln School, which finishes the season 2-11 in Division II.
