Matt Greico scored the game-winner with two minutes left to beat Rogers 3-2, giving the Chieftains their second win of the season.
Ponaganset led 1-0 at the break before a fury of goals broke out at the start of the second. Rogers’ Lorenzo Olsen-Sherman tied the game three minutes into the second half, two minutes later the Chieftains got the lead back when Cal Parrillo scored his second of the game and one minute after the Vikings’ Parker Hagen tied the game at two.
Rogers got 14 saves in goal from Colin Strain in the loss that dropped the Vikings to 2-12 this season with a game Tuesday at Tiverton. Lucas Mitchell made six saves for the Chieftains, who improve to 2-11 and play again Tuesday when they host Johnston.
