How to make a Tater Tot Casserole.

A tater tot casserole is essentially like any casserole that you can make or buy but what makes this so great is that it is cheap as ever and easy to make. Should only take about 20-30 minutes too prepare and cook.

You will need:

  • 1 bag of Tater Tots approx 32 oz
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cups of mixed vegetables (green beans, corn, peas work best) fresh or frozen
  •   2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  •   1 can of cream of mushroom soup ( cream of chicken works too)
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • salt & pepper to taste (optional)

  1. Brown ground beef and onion over medium heat until no pink remains. Drain any fat.
  2. Remember that the sauce is optional and can be substituted with just the can  of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken. However the can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom is not
  3. In a bowl mix together soup, milk, garlic powder, dry mustard and salt and pepper and whatever seasons you see fit. I recommend a pinch of paprika or a bit of chili powder.  The sauce is recommended
  4. Place half of the Tater Tots into a 4 qt glass baking dish, pan, or oven safe bowl. greased
  5. Layer beef, mixed vegetables, remaining tater tots and finally cheese.
  6. In an oven put in a greased large glass baking dish or in an oven safe glass bowl or even a casserole dish. 9×13 or 4 qt’s in size and cook for about 25-30 minutes at 400 degrees fahrenheit or until golden and bubbly
